Incorporation

ARAG Slovenia was founded in 2003 as a joint-stock company and started operations in April 2004. In 2012 it was transformed into a branch of ARAG SE.

Growth and development

From the beginning, we have relied heavily on cooperations with other composite insurers with whom we have agreed to include procedure expenses insurance as an add-on cover in some of their insurances, such as household insurance. The first insurers we started cooperating with were Zavarovalnica Maribor and Tilia (after the merger Sava). Later we added Triglav, the largest Slovenian insurer, and Generali. All cooperation partners of ARAG Slovenia have a market share of more than 2/3 of the total market. In addition, we are very proud to insure more than half of all Slovenian municipalities and some of Slovenia's largest trade unions.

ARAG in Slovenia today

Today, the company is the leading provider of legal expense insurance in Slovenia, with a market share of more than 60 percent. The legal expense insurance is offered through various sales channels: web sales, brokers and sales force of co-operation partners. Co-operation partners offer legal expense insurance of ARAG Slovenia as an add-on product to their core products, such as household, liability, accident or travel insurance. Since 2012 Police Union of Slovenia and since 2019 Croatian Police Union, are two of the largest unions, insured by ARAG. ARAG Slovenia will continue to provide access to justice to its customers at the best possible service also in the future, by creating tailor-made products to different segments.
