Our sponsoring commitments
Strong support for a little ball: a long tradition of sponsorship in table tennis
Borussia Düsseldorf: We sponsor the record-holding champion
As the main sponsor of Borussia Düsseldorf, we are proud to sponsor Europe’s most successful table tennis club. This top club and 26-time German Champion aims to expand its legendary title collection during the 2014/2015 season. That is the goal of a quartet composed of three experienced players and one young “savage.” Timo Boll is still the star of the team and the fan favorite, of course. This exceptional talent will be playing alongside the great Greek defensive specialist Panagiotis Gionis, the strong and loveable Indian player Sharath Kamal Achanta and the 22-year-old shooting star Patrick Franziska.
On the ball with ARAG: international star Timo Boll
Timo Boll has been carrying the ARAG Logo around the world since 2006 and is very pleased with our personal sponsoring support. “It makes me proud and encourages me to do what I can to help strengthen ARAG’s good reputation.” And we are thrilled to be able to support such a likeable and exceptional athlete. Timo Boll has participated in four Olympics, fourteen World Championships and eleven European Championships. Still competing with the best in Germany and the world, he is the only German player ever ranked number one in the world three times.
The Deutsche Tischtennis-Bund comprises some 10,000 clubs with 670,000 members – supported by ARAG as main sponsor. Table tennis is an attractive recreational sport and ranks at the top of the first Bundesliga with the highest concentration of World Top 100 players.
We have also been the main sponsor of the table tennis Mini-Championships since 2010. The Deutsche Tischtennis-Bund developed this grandiose recreational sports program for children aged twelve and under. Anyone can participate, regardless of how often he or she has played the game before. The only requirement is that these boys and girls have never taken part in championships or tournaments of any kind. Over the past 31 years, 1.3 million girls and boys have been introduced to the sport of table tennis in this way. The national finals of the 2015 Mini-Chapionships will take place in Delmenhorst.
