Award for excellence: ARAG named “Insurance Provider of the Year” in UK
The industry journal Claims Magazine has named ARAG’s UK subsidiary ARAG plc. “Insurance Provider of the Year.” The company finished ahead of three other finalists in that category. ARAG plc. has now received the award twice, having won the jury’s favor in 2009 as well. With the annual “Personal Injury Awards” first conferred in 2008, the magazine honors various occupational groups which support people in the process of asserting and settling claims resulting from personal injuries of all kinds.
The jury awarded prizes in a total of 17 different categories, honoring attorneys, expert medical appraisers, service providers specialized in claims management, insurance companies and insurance service providers, among others.
“We were selected over very strong competitors for the second time and presently we hold a leading position in the ‘Legal Insurance Provider’ segment. We are very proud of that,” says Tony Buss, Managing Director of ARAG plc. The jury was particularly impressed with the outstanding customer service, the tailor-made product offerings which meet the needs of customers and the innovative, web-based policy and claims administration system offered by ARAG plc.
Founded in 2006 and based in Bristol, ARAG plc. caters to the entire value chain of an insurance service provider as an intermediary – from sales and
marketing to underwriting. Risks are underwritten by three leading UK insurance companies. The company has achieved success in both the BTE (before-the-event) and the ATE (after-the-event) segments. In the latter case, the damaging event – a traffic accident, for example, or a medical treatment error – has already occurred. Legal insurance policies written after the event are intended to cover all costs incurred in connection with a legal dispute, such as attorneys’ and expert appraiser’s fees as well as court costs. ARAG plc provides both commercial and private legal insurance services, offering policies for motorists and families, for example. Its target group includes insurers, brokers, attorneys, consultants and banks, for which the company designs tailor-made legal insurance products.
