Milestones
Incorporation
ARAG entered the Spanish legal insurance market in 1977 and founded one of its first international subsidiaries in Barcelona. The company started with selling automotive and motorists’ legal insurance and later expanded its portfolio to include legal insurance for owners of real estate, companies and families.
Growth and development
In 1987, ARAG merged with Spanish market leader “CAP” (La Compania de Asistencia y Proteccion Internacional, S.A.) to form “CAP-ARAG,” thereby enlarging its sales network substantially. “CAP-ARAG” was renamed ARAG Compañía Internacional de Seguros y Reaseguros S.A. in the year 2000. Since 2012, ARAG Spain is a branch of ARAG SE.
ARAG in Spain today
ARAG continues growing in the broker market and wants to continue this upward trend by better utilizing its resources, time and the talent of the company's employees. ARAG will also focus on improving the user experience and efficiency to be more competitive.
