Corporate Principles
All employees of the ARAG Group work in an international business environment that constantly poses new challenges. We accept these challenges. To meet them, we need a common understanding of our goals and visions – and of how we can realize them together. With that in mind, we have developed the “ARAG Essentials,” our Group-wide guiding principles. Our vision, our corporate mission and our values are articulated in the “ARAG Essentials.” The “ARAG Leadership Standards” define the tools we need to translate these principles into concrete action.

Our self-conception derives from our vision:
ARAG is the internationally recognized, independent partner for legal matters and protection.
 
Internationally recognized
The phrase internationally recognized indicates the most important standard against which ARAG measures itself: the appreciation of its customers. The recognition we receive from our customers is the foremost source of pride for managers and employees alike. With this statement, the ARAG Group introduces a fundamental change in perspective: the Group evaluates its performance primarily from the point of view of customers, the market and competitors.

The prerequisite for international recognition is ARAG's ability to demonstrate a high level of innovative power in its products and services. As our aim is to gain the recognition of our customers through top performance in our day-to-day work, our managers and employees are highly motivated. Internationally recognized also means that ARAG is judged more rigorously than ever against international standards and must therefore become increasingly transparent.
Independent
Entrepreneurial independence provides ARAG with stability and enables us to make our own entrepreneurial decisions. This is the essential prerequisite that enables ARAG to concentrate all its energy on the needs of its customers. From the perspective of our employees, this entrepreneurial independence means that ARAG offers enhanced scope for initiative which in turn demands a responsible use of resources by all.

ARAG’s independence is the guarantee for a dependable, long-term orientation toward our customers’ needs and expectations. ARAG creates added value by focusing on its customers and is on a par with them.
Partner for legal matters and protection
The concept of partnership is also a motive which we apply within the Group: for a respectful, fair and results-oriented conduct with one another.

As a pledge "legal matters and protection" describes a broad value proposition to our customers and it is the link that unites all of our products. It also redefines our role as specialist and transfers the competence and service quality we have developed in legal insurance to all other product segments. This reflects the reality of our multi-segment approach. The paired terms "legal matters and protection" replaces old dogmas and offers new growth perspectives for the ARAG Group.
ARAG Essentials
The ARAG Essentials are guidelines for every individual in the ARAG Group. They emphasize the unique character of our organization and express in a nutshell the shared values to which employees, managers and shareholders are committed. We are all guided by the six values of the ARAG Essentials.

Our openness is apparent in our internatioal orientation. Measuring ourselves against international standards is a matter of course for us. This means we openly and honestly seek comparison. Openness also means constantly questionning our routines. We view changes as opportunities and respond rapidly and flexibly. Only through change can we improve ourselves.
Pioneering spirit
We develop new markets by inspiring people with the quality of our services and turning them into customers. We understand our customers´ needs and rapidly convert them into competitive offerings. To do this, we are not afraid to depart from the beaten track and commit our heart and soul to create new products and services for our customers.
Farsightedness
We think long-term. We are quickly to identify future market opportunities and align our activities accordingly. We monitor business and social trends to understand their impact on our work and anticipate market trends more quickly than our competitors.
Discipline
Our work is characterized by professionalism. Each of us understands his or her responsibility for our enterprise. We consider the consequences of every action we take. The Leadership Standards provide reliable points of orientation. They are the “tools” with which we strive to achieve our goals and pursue our visions. The ARAG Leadership Standards are a helpful guide for personal interaction in the various teams in the entire ARAG Group.
