For our German legal insurance policyholders

Effective immediately, ARAG Allgemeine Rechtsschutz-Versicherungs-AG has a new name: ARAG SE. The company has been transformed into a European Company, or “Societas Europaea” (SE).
Why has ARAG made this change?
The ARAG Group has been internationally active for nearly 50 years. Today, more than 45 percent of our employees work outside Germany – in 12 European countries and the United States. Thus ARAG is a European enterprise with German roots.

The transformation offers ARAG several advantages:
Simplified access for the development of new markets in Europe for ARAG.
It is now easier for ARAG to establish a presence in other European countries.
The legal form as an SE strengthens ARAG’s good reputation as a European enterprise based in Germany.
What will change for me as a German legal policyholder?
Nothing will change for you as a German ARAG legal insurance policyholder.
Our organization will retain its head office in Düsseldorf.
All existing policies will naturally remain in force without changes.
What is a European Company/Societas Europaea?
A European Company – also referred to internationally in Latin as a “Societas Europaea” or SE, for short – is a legal form of an European joint-stock company in the European Union and the European Economic Area. It is a common, standardized legal form established by the EU.

An SE is also referred to as an “European Company” and in colloquial German as an “Europa AG”.
