Milestones
Incorporation
ARAG Slovenia was founded in March 2004 as a 100% subsidiary of ARAG Austria. The first insurance policies were issued the following April, only one month later.
Growth and development
Having concluded a cooperative agreement with ZM (Zavarovalnica Maribor), the second largest insurer in Slovenia, immediately after its incorporation ARAG Slovenia signed a second agreement with the Tilia Insurance Company in October 2004. These two partnerships were followed in December of the same year by a third contract with Adriatic Slovenica insurance company. End of 2016 Tilia and ZM merged and founded the Zavarovalnica SAVA. A co-operation with Zavarovalnica TRIGLAV started in December 2017 which is the biggest insurer in Slovenia with a market share of more than 30 percent. All cooperation partners of ARAG Slovenia have a market share of more than 60 percent in total.
ARAG in Slovenia today
In August 2012, ARAG Slovenia became a branch of ARAG SE. Today, the company is the leading provider of legal insurance in Slovenia, with a market share of more than 60 percent. Its three cooperating partners offer both their own products as well as legal insurance policies of ARAG Slovenia to their customers. In 2012, the Slovenian Police Union signed a group contract and in spring 2015 an additional one has been concluded by the trade union of the University Hospital's employees based in Ljubljana. ARAG Slovenia will continue to offer its customers the best possible service in the future, while expanding its legal insurance program in the various segments.
